The Coffee Art Project @ Timberyard from Thurs 18 September 2014

The Coffee Art Project and winners of ‘London’s Best Coffee Shop for Out of Office Workers’, Timberyard London, (www.timberyardlondon.com) are partnering again to create an amazing exhibition with the theme of coffee and the coffee shops experience.

The Coffee Art Project artworks from previous editions will be displayed at Timberyard Seven Dials from Thurs 18 September 2014 for a minimum of 4 weeks.

The exhibition will include 12 pieces of artwork from our amazing artists each representing a different interpretation of the concept of coffee.

All the artworks will be on sale.

Why your contribution is important?

This will help us to achieve our goals in supporting our artists. In addition, sales of the artworks will be going to support a very important charity cause called Project Waterfall, which provides clean drinking water and improves hygiene and sanitation conditions in growing-coffee producing countries.

ELLIN JANE

Ellin jane is an Australian artist currently traveling around the world, taking inspiration from each destination and recording it in her artwork.

Ellin has been painting from the age of 13, having been encouraged by her mother, who is also an artist and art teacher.  She paints in any medium she can get her hands on, acquiring new skills every day.

She was also most fortunate in crossing the English Channel, travelling to London where I became alive, absorbing the music, rock and roll and visiting centres such as Brick Lane in East London and Hackney, where she successfully held her first solo exhibition.

After London, she travelled through Italy, visiting Tuscany Chianti and seeing the fashions of Milan.

Following her return to Australia, Ellin realised that there was a broad spectrum of choices of where she was to live and work, choosing the right place was of fundamental importance.  Her decision had to reflect the furthering of Ellin’s career as an artist, so she has decided to base herself in London and work between Europe and Australia.

ELIZ BOGLARKA VARGA

Born in Transylvania – Romania, where she spent my childhood and later studied arts. From her early years, she was interested in music and mostly drawing and hand craft. She chose the best way to show her feelings by studying  graphics and printmaking in high school which led her to the Faculty of Arts and Design in Timisoara, Romania.

During her high school years she has been an active pupil participating in group exhibitions and entering in printmaking competitions where she was selected between the shortlisted ones. These hits made her more ambitious to carry on studying printmaking on the university too.

In the first year of the university she was selected to exhibit my lino-cuts with one of her student fellow which was the beginning of three year artistic and spiritual searching based on the theme of birds and freedom. Shortly after finishing her studies I came to London where her artistic practice has been put on a side for a while until she found The Coffee Art Project competition and took up the challenge again after 2 years of silence. Her shortlisted work gave me a new start and a different view of seeing our world also a new theme to work on.”
