Growing up in Melbourne, I was spoilt with the high level of quantity independent coffee shops. I came to London in 2006 where coffee shops were mostly large chains-indistinguishable, money making corporations that bombard consumers with deceptive slogans such as ”voted nations favourite coffee shop” and “for coffee lovers”- “ a bit rich” coming from them. London’s ever-growing “independents” are individually innovative, unique and push the boundaries in producing the best tasting coffee possible
