This collage is made from donates and recycled coffee. Packaging and related literature. It reflects the distance between what coffee means to us, the consumer and what it means to those who farm it. For this mother and child, it is like livelihood and trup. While some farmers are now able to sell through fair trade channels that guarantee minimum price, others aren’t so lucky. Often this farmer's children learn only how to tend the fields, repeating the life of poverty that their parents endured. This collage shows the fragmentation how coffee perceived globally. Everyone who donated material for this piece has their own relationship with coffee, as have those depicted in it.
