"Bold Conversations of Fauvism"
Acrylic on Canvas
24 x 24"

Coffee has been a catalyst of communication with friends and also a facilitator of creative ideas. This piece depicts two women enjoying each other’s company over a bold cup of coffee. Their faces are painted in the style of two Fauvist creatives, Matisse and Modigliani, while the surrounding features are more representational. The piece captures the Fauvist style with its bold colors, simplistic features and high degree of abstraction. The name of the piece characterizes the age old relationship between coffee, dialogue and art.
